YBNext from Effingham County

Jasper CEO was invited to join the Effingham CEO group to enjoy a guest panel from YBNext in Effingham County. The YBNext website at www.ybnext.com describes their organization as “A dynamic group of young professionals that make up the next generation of the leadership of Effingham County and surrounding areas. The Young Business Network extension invites the young leaders of this area to become engaged with each other in social settings, in professional development activities, and in family and charitable events.” YBNext is through the Effingham Chamber of Commerce and you must be 21-40 years of age and either live or work in Effingham County. Although this organization is only 8 years old they already have 140 members and are looking for more new recruits to benefit from what YBNext has to offer.

Stephanie Tracey - Facebook Marketing

A more timely visit we could not have asked for as Stephanie Tracey, English teacher at Oblong High School and Facebook standout with her Great Dane rescue page, visited with Jasper CEO students about how to create and effectively market their product or service on Facebook. More specifically she discussed how to make your business stand out on Facebook by building brand awareness and driving people to your website. As essentially all of Jasper CEO students will have a Facebook page if not all, this was a timely visit! The students were so glad to meet Stephanie and gain her knowledge and personal insight to Facebook and social media marketing!

Diann Ruholl Detasseling

Diann Ruholl, owner of Diann Ruholl Detasseling visited with Jasper CEO students today about the importance of a good work ethic, determination, and the value of a dollar as they embark on their very own individual business. Not only does Diann run a detasseling crew for Monsanto in the summers for the last 38 years, she has also been a bus driver for the Jasper County School District for the last 38 years. It was a very interesting morning as Diann discussed her life’s journey that has led her to today and it was a joy to see her passion for her business and the life skills it affords her employees.

Personality Profiles

Jasper CEO welcomed Interim Executive Director to the Midland Institute back today to analyze with us our own personality profiles. The institute is in the process of upgrading their personality testing tool and we were excited to volunteer as a testing site. The personality profile is given at the beginning of each school year to students in the CEO program. Their personalities are each identified and explained. The reason we do this is not only for each student to better learn about themselves, but also for each of their classmates to know the true personalities of their constituents in order to work more effectively with each other. Students were intrigued by the accuracy of the findings and are excited to learn more! Thanks Cheryl for practicing with us and sharing your knowledge of the process!

Get Involved in CEO

The manner in which the CEO program is funded is critical to its success and sustainability. All funds raised are used exclusively for the Jasper County CEO program. To participate, a 3-year $1000 per year commitment is required. Business Partner Investors commitments of time and energy are also critical to the program's success. Contributions may be tax deductible, as our organization is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization.

When we are not touring local businesses, we need a place to host the class. During that time, the 0 CEO students and their Facilitator would meet at your site where they would also have guest speakers and guests from the community attend. Hosting requires a facility with internet access and adequately accommodates up to 5 people.

We are looking for people to share real-life stories about the concepts of running a business, from strategic thinking, product development to marketing, and cash flow management. Also, sharing your personal successes and failures are what recent classes have enjoyed the most.
