CEO Business Visits

Crooked Creek Antler Art, Inc.

Eric Carr

Today found us with Eric Carr, owner of Crooked Creek Antler Art. This business is very interesting and it is unbelievable that we have something like this in Jasper County. Again, one of the many treasures of our small community like so many others that make us unique and fascinating. Aside from talking to us about how the Carr family went from farming to Antler Art we also learned many business concepts. Among these concepts we learned the value in using the entire product and how to market effectively using common sense while following customer demand and trends. We also talked about very pertinent information when it comes time to focus on our personal business in regards to pricing, accounts receivable, and shipping. We encourage you, if you have never been to Crooked Creek Antler Art or the Paws and Claws pet store to stop in and see what they have to offer. We guarantee you will leave amazed!

Class Business Solidified and Officers Announced

What a great week! Our class day on Tuesday helped to solidify our class business (more details to follow) and also led us to believe we were at the point it was necessary to elect the CEO and CFO of our class business. This year we have also decided to add a COO position that will be in charge of notating and sharing class business information with all class members as well as assisting the CEO with organization and the creating of an agenda to help effectively guide our class days. On Thursday, students interested in the positions gave presentations and then the class discussed and subsequently voted on who they felt would be the best for our class. This year our CEO will be Timothy Weber, our CFO will be Mitch Jansen, and our COO will be Alicia Buerster. I am so proud of our class and how maturely they discussed and handled this process.

Fall Investor Social

In a new twist of events this year, Jasper CEO’s facilitator and board turned the planning of the fall social over to this year’s students. To say they “knocked it out of the ball park” would be an understatement. As I watched students plan and execute the event, they did so with confidence, calmness, and a true enjoyment for entertaining others. It was a pleasure to attend and we thank so many of our investors for sharing their morning with us! We hope you enjoyed your social time and a delicious breakfast. It is through our interactions with you that we are growing into mature business professionals with a presence that is second to none! For all associated with Jasper CEO, you are making a difference with every dollar, every discussion, every visit, and every touch point of communication you have with these kids. Thank you for blessing us!

Get Involved in CEO

The manner in which the CEO program is funded is critical to its success and sustainability. All funds raised are used exclusively for the Jasper County CEO program. To participate, a 3-year $1000 per year commitment is required. Business Partner Investors commitments of time and energy are also critical to the program's success. Contributions may be tax deductible, as our organization is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization.

When we are not touring local businesses, we need a place to host the class. During that time, the 0 CEO students and their Facilitator would meet at your site where they would also have guest speakers and guests from the community attend. Hosting requires a facility with internet access and adequately accommodates up to 5 people.

We are looking for people to share real-life stories about the concepts of running a business, from strategic thinking, product development to marketing, and cash flow management. Also, sharing your personal successes and failures are what recent classes have enjoyed the most.
