CEO Business Visits

CEO Guest Speakers

Bobbie Ashley

Our first business visit of the new year found us at WIKK studios on the west edge of Newton with radio celebrity, Bobbie Ashley. You can catch Bobbie every week day morning on 103.5 WIKK from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. During Bobbie’s show she delivers an entertainment report, today in rock & roll history, celebrity interviews, prize giveaways, and last but not least community events and news. She shared with us all about her path to WIKK, the radio business, FCC compliance, and the legal protection of music. Bobbie has also authored two books and is working on a third book all of which she self-published. So, she walked us through how she went about that process as well. Overall, we had a very fun and informative day at WIKK. WIKK and Bobbie have been huge supporters of Jasper CEO and we appreciate their assistance and faith in our program.

Intellectual Property

Attorney Lucas Wenthe

It is always a pleasure to welcome IP Attorney, Lucas Wenthe from Effingham, IL to our class. Who knew trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets could be so interesting?!?! Lucas, an IP attorney for Bonutti Technologies, Inc., not only introduced us to these legal concepts but also during his visit assists students to see the importance of stretching themselves and reaching out to distant resources to make their individual business spectacular! He also challenged (and made the kids swear) they would read a book he deems as impactful when growing up in small town America, “David and Goliath” by Malcolm Gladwell. We are all to read and report back to him the 2 greatest things we took away from it by May. Lucas is a visionary, a motivator, and an excellent friend to CEO. Our students were impacted by his visit and grateful for his knowledge and candor!

Class Day

Responsibility, accountability, patience, and tolerance. Just a few things our class days teach us. Communication, laughing, planning, achievement. Just a few things we enjoy most on these days!

Get Involved in CEO

The manner in which the CEO program is funded is critical to its success and sustainability. All funds raised are used exclusively for the Jasper County CEO program. To participate, a 3-year $1000 per year commitment is required. Business Partner Investors commitments of time and energy are also critical to the program's success. Contributions may be tax deductible, as our organization is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization.

When we are not touring local businesses, we need a place to host the class. During that time, the 0 CEO students and their Facilitator would meet at your site where they would also have guest speakers and guests from the community attend. Hosting requires a facility with internet access and adequately accommodates up to 5 people.

We are looking for people to share real-life stories about the concepts of running a business, from strategic thinking, product development to marketing, and cash flow management. Also, sharing your personal successes and failures are what recent classes have enjoyed the most.
