TRADE SHOW

Interviews

Lanette Huddlestun, Susan Lindley, Beth Probst

The Eagle Country Water Works gives two $500 scholarships to CEO students every year at the Trade Show. This year, an interview component was added in. Thank you to Lanette Huddleston, Susan Lindley, and Beth Probst for taking time to interview the students. It was another great experienced offered through the CEO program and the giving community members of Jasper County!

The recipients of the two scholarships were Chase Lemke and Alexis Cavazos!

Entrepreneur of the Year

The Entrepreneur of the Year is reserved for the student who has made the most of their CEO experience and used that knowledge to create a strong personal business. Students voted on the team member they felt best fit this criteria and we are proud to announce that the winner is Madelynne Boldrey! As the COO of the class business she demonstrated a dedication, professionalism and work ethic. As a team member, she showed strong communication skills, willingness to listen to all views, and a desire to come to a compromise that was best for all involved. With her business, Roasted, Madelynne's desire to give back is obvious as she is donating all her profits to nonprofit organizations in the area. This is a well-deserved award for Madelynne and we are thankful for her efforts in making this year a success!

Trade Show 2018

Thank you to everyone who came out on Wednesday to browse through our Trade Show! It was a wonderful night for our CEO students. During our recap of the night, student comments were very positive as they enjoyed the experience and the connection with the community! We appreciate our board members, KC Hall, Peoples State Bank for sponsoring the event, and the parents for all of their help in the set up and break down. Our year may be coming to a close, but the impact of CEO and the community support the students have felt, will continue for years!

The IT Factor

Dalton Hinterscher

Computer programmer, Dalton Hinterscher, spoke with students about how his ability to go the extra mile turned into a career in IT. He has created apps, both for consumers as well as for business. Dalton touched on what it was like to move back to Dieterich, which is available to do because he can work remotely. Knowing two computer 'languages' well, but able to speak seven, made him more attractive to companies. "The benefit of this industry is that a young person can really go far if they are willing to work harder than other people. It's not about seniority."

"I would rather work at a job where I get paid significantly less and love the work than get paid for a job I hate. You have to wake up every morning and enjoy what you are doing." His ultimate goal is to work on a sports app.

Thank you, Dalton, for speaking on your life experiences and about your career!

Get Involved in CEO

The manner in which the CEO program is funded is critical to its success and sustainability. All funds raised are used exclusively for the Jasper County CEO program. To participate, a 3-year $1000 per year commitment is required. Business Partner Investors commitments of time and energy are also critical to the program's success. Contributions may be tax deductible, as our organization is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization.

When we are not touring local businesses, we need a place to host the class. During that time, the 0 CEO students and their Facilitator would meet at your site where they would also have guest speakers and guests from the community attend. Hosting requires a facility with internet access and adequately accommodates up to 5 people.

We are looking for people to share real-life stories about the concepts of running a business, from strategic thinking, product development to marketing, and cash flow management. Also, sharing your personal successes and failures are what recent classes have enjoyed the most.

If you are interested in participating in any of the above programs, use our contact form to send us a message
